    Default multiple baseline grid

I wonder if there is a method to use more than one baseline grid in one publication. I am producing a publication with three sections, each with different leading.
I have already posted a multiple baseline grid feature on the wish list, but may be there is a method to have the text snap to different grids on one and the same publication.

It's not that hard to do it manually; you just have to keep track of the height of any interruptions and any spacing added before and after those interruptions.

There's the old trick of using a leading half the needed size. Not that it is the perfect thing but is saves some work when making fine adjustments

The bad thing about it is that you have to remember to make a page text box that sums always an even number of lines and that sometimes the view with the grid 'on' is a bit messy.

Thanks for the tips. I work around it at the moment by splitting the publication in 3, each with a different baseline grid.
This creates a bit more work with page numbering and TOC, but it saves time when filling in text.
I assemble the whole publication in Acrobat.

    Christoph,

That is what we do. As long as you keep a coherent set of templates and libraries it's quite efficient. I see no special hassle if you have a clear schedule and use automatic numbering.

(still in Quark but ID somewhat on the horizon).
