Default Multiple counts in a repeat region

I've got table with basic fields such as areaID, buildingID, and repaired.

I'm trying to create a repeating region that for each area shows the total #
of buildings in the area and how many have been repaired.

It should look something like this.

    AREA # Buildings #repaired
    area1 9 5
    area2 8 3
    area3 12 11

I'm using PHP/mySQL. I've been able to display the count of the total number
of buildings but not the number that have been repaired.

    Appreciate any help

Default Re: Multiple counts in a repeat region

in the SQL statement you can create 2 count() functions and use a group by
    clause to group by area

    ex

select areaid, count(buildingid) as totalbuildings, count(repaired) as
    totalrepaired
    from tablename
    group by areaid
    order by areaid

the above groupby /order by is not a mistake, you have to use both to be able
to retreive the data that you need. if you dont use group by then you cant use
count, and if you dont use order by then you cant retreive the areaid

when you get your table returned each record will contain
AREA ID | TOTAL BUILDINGS | TOTAL REPAIRED BUILDINGS
