Default Multiple page numberings in InDesign CS

Does anyone know if it is possible to run two styles of page numbering at the same time? For example to have normal (1,2,3,4 etc.) running on the left hand pages and alpha (A,B,C,D etc.) running on the right hand pages. So the page number sequence would be 1, A, 2, B, 3, C, 4, D, etc. I'm not sure if it's possible but if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

I think every page would need to be a section which would leave you
needing to do it manually anyway.

Seems like a job for a script.

Depending on how large the file is, this might be best done the old fashioned way - by typing in each number or letter. Less work to type "A" than to start a section and change the numbering method. I also wonder how well ID will like placing odd pages on the left and even pages on the right (which it will need to do for half of the pages).
