Must ungroup objects in Pub2003
Before previewing or posting a web page in Pub2003, be
sure to ungroup all grouped objects (even text)- or the
entire grouped region will be transformed into a GIF
image! This drove me nuts until I figured it out by trial
and error. The problem isn't apparent in Explorer, but in
Netscape 7.1 lookout! I previously used Pub2000 so this
was quite a surprise.

You should have seen this in 2000 and 2002. Far as I can remember grouping
objects will generate a gif image. You can use that to your advantage to
create wanted graphics.
