Default MX : 10.3 "Cannot Draw Picture - Not Enough Memory"

Have installed fix patch for activation,
but FH continues to crash, not open when dblclicked
and worst of all, will not re-draw, not enough memory!

    - what gives? 770MB RAM, g5, all the "low-res" options
selected in prefs - is there anything else I can do?

(this file was fine to open in MX last week running 10.2,
    - not very large, not too many points, a coupla placed small bitmap tifs)

    any suggestions? please help!
at this point I'm wondering if I should I revert to FH 10 or Mac OS 10.2 ...

I'm running a g5 with 1.2g of RAM and FH10. Ran into similiar problems especially when zooming too close in or too many pictures placed in. Running FH10 in classic seem to solve the problem but it is not recommended... May try downgrading your os to 10.2... I may try that.

I have the same memory issue after installing Panther and updating to Freehand 11.0.1. Unfortunatley, downgrading to Freehand 11.0.0 didn't solve the issue for me. I still receive the memory error, incredibly frustrating with daily work. A fix/update is needed very soon.

I can't believe I made a spelling mistake in my first ever post! Doh!

Anyway, I don't really know why this problem does occur. Illustrator works perfectly well with images which have an opacity, which is my main problem in freehand. Never once in my life have I come across anything like this in all my Illustrator days.

Spoke to macromedia on the phone, not really too much help there.

    Good luck guys!
