MX crashes when layer panel is selected

Does any one else have this problem? I would say it happens about 75% of the time. New files, old files does not matter. I this has been going on since I installed it months ago.

Yeah I get this crash occasionally but I cant find a pattern to it.

I Just save my documents and wince every time I click on layers lol

Hi Mark,

It would be better for anyone in the forums to help you faster we can all get a better scope of the situation. If you can give us more info on when and where the crash happens. Which version of FreeHand you are using? Which platform? Do you get any error message? Little details such as those.

Running 10.2.6
G4 400 MHz
256 MB RAM
FH MX 11.0 Build 416
No error message.

I select the layer tab and the program crashes. I cannot find any consistency other than time. The longer FH is open the more likely it will crash. It never crashes on the first open file.

Here are my specs:
G4/733
Mac OS 10.2.4
712 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 8500 with 2 Monitors, one of them Wacom Cintiq
FHMX

OS X produces crash logs, maybe it would be useful to analyze them?

FHMX crashes regularly (seems to be a habit, look at the other threads...) every 15 minutes when working with simple illustrations using pasted 1-bit tiffs. The template was from FH 10.
Discarded it and draw a new template. Tried to work without "paste inside". Changed the font.
No effect, still regular crashes, often when I try to pick a color from the palette.

My advice to MM would be to produce FH 12 without any new feature, just bugfixes!

I'm not seeing this, but I normally don't have my layer panel tabbed with
another panel. Mine is open by itself all the time. However, I grouped it
with Styles to test and all works fine.

What other panels are in your panel group?

Are you using a template file from previous FH versions that may have
corruption in the layers or items that are corrupted? I had a old file that
contained a group with corrupted layer info. It would crash FHMX.

This sounds like it could be a video driver issue. Do you have the latest
driver for your video card?
