MX Drop Shadows
I have read on this forum that the "Drop Shadow" function in Freehand MX is only suitable for RGB out put such as for the Webb. Is this true or is there a way to use it for high res CMYK out put. I have tried several ways of achieving the required effect but with no success.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Sad but true yes. It seems to me that FreeHand uses color management
settings in creating bitmap images for raster effects while vector objects
are unmanaged on export. This of course results color mismatch in printing
or in exported image.
Best result I've got was by exporting the image as Photoshop eps and
correcting colors in Photoshop. I do not remember what color management
settings I used.
Now I do not even think about using raster effects in FreeHand. Compared for
example to drop shadows created in InDesign FreeHand's effects are more than
pathetic.

FH renders the drop shadow ABOVE the object that is casting it rather
than below, and there is no way to separate the two so you can adjust
the order. The edges of your vector shape will be rasterized using this
effect.
