MX6.0 administrator and XPP

    Default MX6.0 administrator and XPP

I'm running XPP SP2 and IIS.
IIS runs fine to show asp pages.
Can't run CFMX6.0 admin pages (the encrypted ones like index.cfm).
CAN run regular text CF pages - but can't create DSNs, etc.
Tried both Firefox 1.07 and IE 6.0.
The CF exception.log shows "java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot set up certs
for trusted CAs" - is this related? There haven't been any screens asking about
certs, and previous installs on other machines didn't request - ?

    Thanks,

    Ting

Tried upgrading to 6.1, which went fine, but no luck. Still croaks trying to
open Index.cfm. Tried both IE6.0 and Firefox 1.0.7 with same results.

De-installed 6.1 and installed 5.0 - and get exactly the same thing!!! Is
this an XPP problem? I have all versions of CF back to 4.0 running on Win2K
    Server with no problems.

    Any help appreciated.

I assume you restarted after the changes? Afaik this problem is strictly
related to the JCE and your JVM version. I believe JVM 1.42 resolves this
issue. If you check your java version, what does it say? I think it should be
    1.4.2_05 for MX6.1.

I suppose you could try the work around for MX6 on download the JCE from
    sun.com site.

Yes, we did restart. And I'm running Java 1.5.0_04_b05.

CF works fine with unencrypted pages - just not the admin ones I need!

When I look at my Java Applets, I have a "cfadmin.jar-66ad2d44-3c3bacb.zip
under CFIDE/administrator/classes/cfadmin.jar. Is this anything I need to
    think about?

    Thanks for the help.

Something new: now running CF5.0: it displays cfm pages, but WITHOUT understanding CF tags (CFOUTPUT isn't working, for instance). All four CF services are started. What next?!

    Hmm... you're running 1.5? I thought MX6.1/7 installed v1.4.2.

SInce reloaded 6.0 and then upgraded to 6.1 again. Same results (CF doesn't
    interpret cfm pages).

Well. Yet again blew all away and reloaded up to 6.0 with standalone server.
Then, instead of updating to 6.1, I downloaded the CFMX60jce.zip file. Now the
    admin pages all come up!!!!!!

But a different problem arises. I loaded a set of templates into a new
directory under wwwroot (same level as CFIDE) - and CF can't apparently "see"
any of my pages. Get a "file not found" error. Stack trace says
    "coldfusion.runtime.TemplateNotFoundException: File not found:
    /foldername/foo/foo/foo/foo.cfm

The "/foldername" folder is visible in IIS console - but meaningless using
    8500?

When I move my templates under CFIDE or CFIDE/administrator they STILL are
    "not found"! ????

    Any ideas MOST appreciated.

Finally! After many more deinstalls and playing around, I loaded 5.0 (which
didn't work) but then downloaded the new 7.0 Developer and it DID. What agony.
    Anyway I'm back up again.

    Thanks to all who helped!
