Re: MX7 - Oracle 9
Hi,
the installation replaces the java class path for the oracle jdbc driver. You
should configure the class path in the cf-administrator. Add an entry like
"C:/oracle/ora90/jdbc/lib". Make sure you have the right oracle jdbc-driver in
this drirectory. in my case it's the "ojdbc14.jar"-file for a 9i-Database.

I read here that only Enterprise edition can even access Oracle databases.
That sucks if it is true, because we have a standard edition MX6.1 install now
and want to upgrade, but cant see paying enterprise prices for access to Oracle.
Please someone tell me that i am wrong.

Re: MX7 - Oracle 9
I suppose that you could configure it as an "other" data source.

Or, there is always an ODBC socket connection if you are on a Windows box, but
that is a last resort option in my opinion.

Re: MX7 - Oracle 9
Thats true, we do have it setup as an Other type driver and point to the JDBC url like:
jdbc:oracle:thin:@server:1521:DSN
Will this work with the standard edition of MX7?

Re: MX7 - Oracle 9
As far as I know it will. I am not aware of any differences between MX 6.1 and 7 in this regard.
