MySQL Connection with SSL or TLS
hello,
anyone knows a methode, how I can get a secure Database-Connection from a
Director Projektor to a MySQL-Database ?
Ok, I can send the Data with sendNetText to PHP and with PHP to the Database
with SSL.
But there must be a secure way to transfer the data directly to MySQL.
Is there no ODBC Xtra or so ?
thx

Re:MySQL Connection with SSL or TLS
OpenDBC Xtra will work if you use the ODBC add-on for MySQL
(assuming you want to access a local DB and not a remote DB)
However, if you are talking about accessing a database on a server over the internet from Director (in other words "not on the same machine"), that requires the database to support Remote Procedure Calls, of which only high end DBs usually support ... there is GoldenGate though if you want to try another way to remotely access a database via ODBC ... its really pricey though.

Re: MySQL Connection with SSL or TLS
thx SafariTECH and Jazzy,
I must access a database located on a webserver, not local.
When I am on work later, I will search for a Xtra in the URL which Jazzy
gave me.
bye
