get Matrix TTL flash or even regular TTL flash with an external flash unit.
Only the built-in one will support it. (I own the next model up, the N65,
and external ***dedicated*** flash units WILL give Matrix TTL flash or
standard TTL flash, although not 3D Matrix like the N80 will.)
As for lenses, well me I own the N65 and I own the 28-80 G lens and also the
70-300 G lens. A lot of Internet posters decry the G lenses, but I think
it's similar to the "Series E" lenses of yore--that is, bad reputation but
in actuality pretty good performance. They won't hurt you and the lack of a
regular aperture ring is of no conseqence with the new cameras (except the
FM3A). On the other hand, if you want to be able to use your lenses with
older Nikon bodies (FE, FM2, F3 etc) or the FM3a then don't get G lenses;
they won't work with those types of cameras.
