Need help setting a default variable - Coldfusion - Getting Started

I have a query that results in one field for one unique record (Time_ID)...it is an integer. What I need to do is grab that one value at the beginning of a session and store it as a session variable called, say, "Current_Week". I have no idea how to do this. Any help would really be appreciated....

    In Application.cfm, enable session management. Then do your query if the
    session variable does not yet exist. See code below (not tested).

    <CFAPPLICATION NAME="myApp" sessionmanagement="yes">

    <CFIF NOT IsDefined("session.Current_Week")>
    <CFQUERY NAME="getTime" ... >
    SELECT time_ID FROM myTable WHERE ...
    </CFQUERY>
    <CFSET session.Current_Week = getTime.time_ID>
    </CFIF>

    Also - It is recommended that you CFLOCK all writes to SESSION variables.
