Need help updating SQL DateTime fields. - Macromedia ColdFusion

For some reason when I try to convert a Date in the format Fri Jun 16 00:00:00 GMT-0500 1987 to an ODBCDateTime and update a field with the new ODBCDateTime, it updates everything correctly, except it ALWAYS sets the year to be 2000. Does anyone know why this might be/how I could correctly p the year?...

    Why not use CreateODBCDateTime(date)?

That's what I've been trying to do, but the Date is in the y format that Flash puts it in, so SQL doesn't like trying to make an ODBCDateTime out of it.

Can you strip what you want from the format that Flash gives you?
    Then just CreateODBCDateTime on that.

See, that's what I'm wondering. Is there a way to pull out those useful
nuggets within a CFC? They get sent from Flash in Flash's Date format, so
there's no way to change it before it gets to the CFC.
