    Default Need help with charts

I am trying to do a chart in Illustrator 8 but when I enter all the information I get a random bar first that goes up to 5000 even thought the highest # in my graph is under 2000. This makes the bars on my graph not very tall. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank You

Perhaps 5000 is entered in the first cell, intended as a label?

Illustrator will read it as a number, and plot it, unless it has some other symbol with it, like " ".

eg, if 1999-2000 is entered as a label, it is okay because the hyphen means it cant be plotted. However, if 1999 is entered alone, Illustrator will plot it.
