Need Help with Hyperlink in a SWF
Hello,
I recently purchased a nice little flash based web site. I am by no means a flash expert, however I know just enough to be dangerous. I am having great difficulty figuring out how to make a hyperlink work in the flash application itself. It would be great if one of you flash experts could lend me a hand.
Thanks in advance..

Re: Need Help with Hyperlink in a SWF
Hello cdntxn
I'll be glad to help. First you want to open up the .fla file in Flash that came with the site. Click on the A in the tools sections to your left so you can start typing. Place the cursor any where on the screen you want the text to be. Start typing. After that, highlight what you have typed. At the very bottom you see the properties panel. At the bottom of that, you see a little logo that look like a chain. Next to that type in the full web address of where you want the link to go. Next to this you see target. Specify if you want the link to open up in a new window or the same. You can tell the text you typed is linked because you will see a dotted line under the text. Thats it. now you can save. Let me know if you have any problems.

Re: Need Help with Hyperlink in a SWF
I followed your instructions. The text is underlined like a hyperlink. I exported the file as a .swf, but the text was not there. I just created a new document and tried to insert a hyperlink, but the text was not in the swf-file after I doubleclicked it and it opened.
Is there anything else I have to do? Insert a layer or so??
i am a beginner.....

Re: Need Help with Hyperlink in a SWF
The instructions above are pretty good so difficult to know where you are going wrong. If you tell me the text/link/window you want, i`ll make it so you can copy/paste it into your file.
Certified but not by Macromedia!
