Need more robust page view/arrange options...
I'd like the equivalent of Bridge within InDesign - that is, something that shows you (clearly) all your pages and lets you drag them around to rearrange them.
Does anyone know of a way to do this?
thx

Re: Need more robust page view/arrange options...
You already have that.
Use the Navigator palette in conjunction with the Pages palette. Set the Navigator palette to View All Spreads. You can zoom in and out on page in Navigator palette. You then move pages around in the Pages palette. Of course it would be good if both those were combined into one or that the Navigator palette also hade the ability to move pages around but it you use both those 2 palettes in conjunction you can anyway get waht you ask for.

Re: Need more robust page view/arrange options...
Yeah... but... not quite.
Navigator's really limited, and I'm working with (currently) a 90-page electronic catalog, with no spreads. there's really no way I could see page 1 and page 75 at the same time.
This program needs to allow users to create a workspace; for example, if someone is designing a magazine, they may, in real life, pin all the spreads up on a wall, then rearrange it... that ability would be an enormous help for me on some of my current projects.
Also, to be able to better identify the pages in the pages pallette - thumbnails, perhaps? Is there a way to do that?
The last catalog I did was 160 pages and rearranging them became fantastically tiresome!

Re: Need more robust page view/arrange options...
I suggest posting your ideas in the first topic in the list, called InDesign Feature Requests.
In your original post, you didn't mention you were dealing with so many pages. Now that you did, perhaps someone will have another helpful suggestion. I don't.

Re: Need more robust page view/arrange options...
I make magazines and use the page palet to shuffle pages around, I don't find it that awkward. It would be nice if ID had a Pagemaker like way of seeing all the pages you need to shuffle.

Something like Bridge, with various ways of sorting/viewing would be ideal.

I agree. Something like the Page Sorter function in Pagemaker would be very helpful.
