Need some help - Viewing PDF within Safari! (Acrobat Pro 7)
Hi,
I am at a total dead end here...
I did a fresh install of OS X 10.4, then upgraded to 10.4.2. Somewhere along the way, something went wrong, because Safari hangs whenever I try to view a PDF.
"Detect & Repair" did nothing. Neither did a permissions repair, nor a re-install of Acrobat. It appears to be something with either the version of Safari or the browser plug-in, but I can't put my finger on it! Can anyone give me some recommendations on where to go next?? I've spent so much time on this!
PDFs open fine if I use the Mac OS PDF viewer, so it's not the PDF file. Also, if I right-click in the browser window while the built-in PDF viewer is active, I get an option to open it up in Acrobat Pro. This launches Acrobat and the file opens in Acrobat, but it's outside Safari.
Hardware: PowerBook G4, 1.67 GHz, 2 Gb RAM, 100 Gb HD; OS X 10.4.2

Have you fixed permissions? Do it again anyway. If that fails, try it
with a new user account. If it works for a different user then it is a
preference file problem.
