Need to Make Smaller File Size

I scanned 80 pages into my computer and converted to a .PDF. File size is 15 MB. I need to email to a colleague. Is there a solution to make this smaller? I tried to send to .zip and it made it about 10 MB. Any thoughts?

Also forgot to mention that I am running 5.0 on Windows XP System.

1. Make sure you're using 5.05

2. Print from Acrobat to Distiller. Use different job options to get a balance between "small" and "acceptable quality," both of which are subjective.

3. 80 color letter-sized pages at 300 DPI is actually over 2 Gigabytes of raster information (that's not a typo, 300 dpi = about 25 MB per letter-sized page) so keep that in mind.

Do you really, really have to scan? Wasn't the printout made from a
computer file?

Thanks! It brought the file size from 15 MB to 5 MB. At least I can email it now.
