Need to Upgrade--Help..!! - Macromedia Flash Player

Current Version of Flash Player = 9.0.47.0......I need to upgrade to Ver 124....Am scheduled to receive my next auto-notice about this early May.... I'd like to clean up any / all old files by running the UnInstaller....Will d/l it to my desktop as recommended etc... My question is----If I do the upgrade by using the auto-notice feature, will it give me the option/ability to save the upgrade d/l to my desktop so I can run the UnInstaller first before installing the upgrade....??? Dell Dimension 2300 / Pent 4 / WinXP-SP2 / IE 7 / AVG7(Free) / SpybotS&D / AdAware2007 (Free) ...

    Hi VWDRV1,

The auto-update will not allow you to save an installer to your desktop, but
you can download the exe for Flash Player from this TechNote:

    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166

Scroll ? way down the page to find the executable installer.

Hi Darren....I tried installing the upgrade---No Go.!!!!!..
    ....
    The UnInstall went fine...

But the install of the new version just wouldn't go....

I tried at least 4 times but each time the Install screen simply "refreshed"
itself each time I clicked the "Agree and install now" button....
When I tried the Adobe "About" test screen, it was blank in the area where the
info for the current flash player version would be indicated....

Sooooo----I ran a System Restore and went back to the Adobe "About" test
screen and I'm now back to my old version (47).....

I have to admit, I'm pretty disgusted (and very gun-shy) with this because
this is the 2nd time I've had trouble with upgrading.....The same things
happened Nov, 07......I had given up, ran system restore, was bringing up the
Adobe "About" test screen when I got a pop-up from AOL asking if I wanted to
install Flash Player.....I bit the bullet and clicked "Install"....That's how I
    got my current version 47....

freshmus.....Sure---but, can't say I'm "ready" to dive into this
quickly---again....So, you may want to post a separate request....
The more I think about it, I'm thinking maybe my security level for IE (set by
the M/S monthly kb updates) may be the problem...In an Adobe TechNote (ID:
tn_19166), it gives some detail of what to look for etc....You may want to
refer to that for some help too....
    Good luck....
