NetBios name instead of domain name
Hi,
Why when installing an active directory domain, the name
is used in the logon to box is the netbios name and not
the domain name.
example: domain name: lab.org
netbios name: lab
so i keep on getting the name "lab" instead of lab.org in
my logon to option when logging to the domain.
Any clue?

Re: NetBios name instead of domain name
You can specify username@lab.org if you like.

NetBios name instead of domain name
When prompted with a logon user and pass, even though it
does not show the ".org" doesnt mean that you're not
logged into the domain. Windows will exclude the suffix
of a domain name regardless of whether or not you have
NetBIOS enabled. If there was another domain that was
similar (e.g. lab.dom) then Windows would then reflect
this by showing the suffixes of both domains.
