I have two computers running Window XP Home Edition
connected in ad-hoc mode by two Microsoft wireless USB
adapters (/em breathes). When I first installed Microsoft
Broadband Network Utility and plugged in the adapters....
everything was beautiful. I had no problems, and my cable
connection was being shared like a dream... a dream I tell
you! Last week I had to unplug one of the adapters, and
when I plugged it back in, something was amiss. For some
reason, the network wasn't being detected. So, I
uninstalled and reinstalled MS BB Net Util. (luvs abbrevs :
p) and tweaked the settings until it worked again. But
since then my connection (on the computer that isn't hooked
directly to the internet) has been slower, sort of
reluctant to kick off. And I get terrible lag when
directly connected to other computers in online games (ex.
Rise of Nations), which was never a problem before. Now,
here goes the question :D. Can I remove all traces of this
network from my computer and begin anew as if I had never
installed the adapters in the first place. I've tried two
System Restores, to dates before I bought the adapters, but
aspects of my network configuration were still there. I
just want things back the way they were :) Thanks for
reading all of this, and thanks even more if you can help
me.
