New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
What is up with the new Adobe Acrobat 6.0? We haven't had problems scanning into Acrobat 4.0 or 5.0 using our Canon copier. I installed Adobe Acrobat 6.0 on a lady's machine, and it won't scan from the copier! It just freezes and doesn't give an error. We tested it out on another computer and the same thing happens. Not sure if it's a driver problem or what.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
Make sure you have updated to 6.0.1. But also make sure you have the latest available drivers - some manufactureres have released fixes specifically to cope with Acrobat.
The original release (and the latest update some would say) was badly flawed in the scanning department.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
We have the exact same problem with our Canon Copier. It also is a new driver. I have the same problem with Minolta scanner too.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
It may stink, but we avoid all these problems by scanning into our Canon scan software and then batch converting in Acrobat. At least while it is converting, you can walk away and get other things done.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
Ditto!
I am having the same problem with scanning directly into Acrobat 6.0. from our Canon ir2200 copier/scanner.
I have tried the Network ScanGear 1.0, 1.3 and 1.5. I have also installed the latest Adobe patch, all producing the same results. Adobe will recognize the TWAIN driver and invoke the ScanGear interface. When you click scan it goes to 99% and just hangs. I recently placed a call to our Canon supplier and so far I have not heard back from them. I hope we can get this resolved ASAP.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
Brenna,
Please fill me in. What is the Canon scan software you refer to? You dont mean the Network ScanGear? Did this software ship with your Canon copier/scanner? If not, how can I get it?
Thanks,
Paul

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
Yes, it came with the Canon document scanner we have. It is called the Scanning Utility 5000 v 1.01, copyright Canon. Nothing special, but it works. It will not scan as a .pdf, so that is why we have to batch convert in Acrobat.

Re: New Adobe Acrobat 6.0 won't scan from Canon copier
I feel your pain, but Canon did release a Network Scan Gear 1.51 for "Acrobat 6 only" that was on their website for awhile, since then I believe Scangear 1.6 is the newest. Although I uninstalled Acro 6 because of this, I do have confirmation from this site that starting from 1.51 Acrobat 6 will now scan to PDF.
I'm keeping Acro 5 around for a specific job right now.
