The fact that you're willing to hold off upgrading is exactly why MM won't
tell anyone when the next version is due.

Cute, Darrel .. that's how rumors get started.
Folks .. no one outside Macromedia knows anything .. they make announcements
of new products approximately 60 days in advance. Best thing any of us can
do is to watch the Macromedia web site for news and announcements.

Re: New Dreamweaver soon ?
I wonder how many people INSIDE Macromedia even know the release date right
now (we can all assume they're at least working on a new version - how far
along is anybody's guess).
Looking at companies that publish expected release dates well in advance
(Microsoft, game publishers, etc), those dates often end up changing several
times before things begin to settle. MM seems to wait until things are
settled to even make an announcement. Smart, really, as you don't have
publicized missed release dates. :)
Of course, I can hear the comments already.
"What? You thought we were working on a new version of Dreamweaver? No,
we've decided to make a game called DreamCATCHER where you play an Indian
Shaman who . . . "

Actually, I think that the bigger issue might be that by not announcing
releases until the release is ready, they don't have investors suing them
for missing a release date which would mean missing major revenue which
would in turn drive down stock price.

Really? I saw it as a way of making sure that people don't hold off buying
the current version

rightThe accountants do. Once they see the coffers going down they announce 'time> now
for an upgrade...let's get those payments rolling in!'
