New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
I just installed Adobe CS2 Suite on a new MacBook and the measurements and type sizes are coming up with lots of extra numbers.
Instead of .25pt for a line weight it is 0.2502502502502502 pt
Margins on a letter size document are 0.5000500050005 in
Is this a MacBook Pentium chip issue? Any ideas? The extra numbers are distracting.
Thanks.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Is this a MacBook Intel issue?
Yes.
No known current fix. Apple knows of the issue.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Does nobody do any forum searches FIRST anymore?
I just can't see these measurement wails anymore.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Gerd, newcomers in a hurry don't even look at the list of current topics. No way to avoid seeing repeated questions short of stop visiting the forums. And, by the way, this is not the only frequently asked question in fashion.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Too true Claudio. But it must rate as one of the most frequent ones ever since the advent of the Intel Macs.
Can't wait for CS3 for a great many reasons! B-)

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
In fairness, there isn't a topic titled "Intel Macs and ID" or similar that would jump out immediately when browsing the permanent threads.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
I guess the QA icon and "Support for Intel based Macs" title is too hard to see.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Dave maybe you could put a temporary thread in the permanent section about this.
Although 10.4.8 is supposed to fix this.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
I didn't even see it if you can believe it. I always scroll up to "InDesign Feature Requests (149 topics flag )" and read down from there. I guess by force of habit I disregard the gray box above the "add topic" button. I looked four or five times to make sure I wasn't missing anything obvious before posting.
Well I'm off now to eat some humble pie… 8|

Is that true?
I wonder because there will be many people who will continue to use CS2 on Intel machines without upgrading to whatever version of InDesign Adobe chooses to release, containing new features that are currently undetermined, at a date that is unknown at the present time, that may or may not happen.

Re: New MacBook - 0.5000500050005 inches
Thanks for the quick response Thomas.
I did scan the forum posts and didn't see anything about measurements (it's probably there a million times but I didnt see any buzz words). I didn't see the Intel Support for Macs link in grey though.
Sorry to have wasted everyone's time on this.
