Nice pictures, but... I don't understand why the site maximizes my browser
to be 1600x1200 pixels and then shows images that look tiny on my screen...

The pictures are very nice, but the site itself needs work...

??? Why do you make it difficult to get into the site? You have text
that says 'Enter' but clicking on it does nothing. You have to move
your mouse all over the screen to finally find an invisible button to
the right ot the 'Enter' text to finally get in. What's the point of
making it difficult? If I were you, and you really want to keep your
'splash screen', I'd allow the visitor to click on the main title
graphic, or the 'enter' text (or even anywhere!!!) to continue.

??? You show images using only 1/3 of the available space in my
browser window and make me scroll to see it all? This on a 1024x768
screen? A window that I now cannot close (I use Proxomiton to keep
down the spam and ads, etc). The window looks like it's designed for
a 800x600 screen just for looks. However, the images look like they'd
fit on a 640x480 visitor's screen just fine. Finally, you might want
to make your thumbnails a bit bigger. 30x30 is a bit small to really
see what the image looks like.

I suggest you read some articles/books by Jakob Nielsen.

Summary: nice photographs displayed on a site whose rigid control
spoils the entire experience. As things stand, most people would
probably be happier with a site created automatically by IrfanView.

    Great shots!
I have my gallery hosted with ShutterPoint, that lets you sell the
photos to anyone (actually rights to use the photos are what's for
sale). Please check out my photos too and comment if you have a moment.

How exactly did the site try to "commandeer" your desktop? By
    opening a single, new window?

By opening a window that stretched out to fill the entire screen.

Weird, mine didn't do that. It *did* open a new window, but it was
a short, wide window. Actually, it wasn't even tall enough to
display the pictures - I had to resize it to see the full image.

But I do agree that "pop-ups" and window resizing are a very
sensitive area for web developers, and are very easily overdone.
