New to Contribute,
I just bought Contribute for my Mac, but my customer who needs to edit, is on a
PC.
Does he have to purchase a full Windows version of Contribute to edit?
Currently I am running his new web (built with GoLive CS2) on my web, but will
eventually connect it to a different ftp address
Can I edit my version of Contribute to the reflect the new ftp when the time
comes?
One more question, I do not understand these keys. Where do I find them and
what is there use. I originally thought that I could set up everything in my
Mac version of Contribute and connect it to the ftp address, and then send a
key, and my customer could access his web with that key and make his edits. I
just do not get it. I'd really appreciate some help
Thanks!

Huh???
They are called connection keys. They allow you to give a Contribute user>> I do not understand these keys. Where do I find them and what is there use.
access to a web site, either through FTP or a local mapped drive... First you
setup a FTP site through Contribute yourself, and you become the administrator
of the site.
Then, from your admin panel you can create "roles" and add users to these
roles. (For example, a HR person goes into the HR role, and only HR users can
edit HR pages... a PM person goes into the PM role, and likewise, only PM users
can edit PM pages, etc etc.. )
In order for the users to log into the server, they will need a connection
key. (Contribute doesn't allow non-technical users access via a username and
password) This connection key contains login/password information, which is
encrypted. They will never know their password, because its encrypted inside
the connection key, which increases its security.
You setup the connection key(s) and put their login details into it, and then
mail it out to the users. The users will not appear in your admin panel until
they've "activated" their access with the key you sent to them.
Once they've activated their account - Contribute will now allow them to make
edits, logging into the server with the FTP info it contains. So now they can
make edits to their -specific area- of the web site which they have rights to,
and nothing more.
Contribute also will allow you as the admin to go in and at any time modify
any of the users. You can give some users more or less rights, you can add
someone as an admin, its almost unlimited. But Contribute 3 has a lot more
features than Contribute 2, so your better off just sticking with 3.
Hope this clears up some of the fog :-)

Re: New to Contribute,
Thank you for the help Mike!
To be clear, my customer who is on a pc can activate the web through an ftp.
with a key and he therefore does not have to buy his own version of Contribute,
Is that correct?
Does contribute let you activate more than one site? In other words, can I
connect 2 or 3 other customers to my version?
I will get this yet.

Re: New to Contribute,
Each editor needs it's own copy of Contribute. One editor can obviously edit multiple sites with one copy of Contribute.
