Default new to FH: can somone answer question

    Hello,

using FHMX and new to FH in general. spent a few weeks reading through the tutorials listed on MM site and have gottne comfortable working in FH. I do mostly "webby" work as many people here have termed it. (Interestingly, for an app thats designed for print work, it does contain a "publish as HTML" option) I have come to like the multi page feature and have designed some nice page layouts for a website. Now the problem. How the heck do I get these images out of FH and into a usable format for other apps? When exporting as gifs, the edges are unacceptably jaggy. Also, had an instance where the background white of the page turned pink in the exported image!!! The colors are off in ALL formats offered for export. EPS looks horrible. and .ai for illustrator requires enough touchup to negate the use of FH in the first place. My frustration leads me to ask what good, if any, is an application if you can't get the work out?

MM is under the impression that print is dead and everyone wants every piece
of software to be a web app.

The best solution is usually cut & paste.

Don't use any web export features of FH. They suck.
    > EPS looks horrible.
EPS should be just fine. What app are you bringing the EPS into?

i think i've attched a zip file of some screen grabs.

Out of FHMX i exported to eps, quark eps, ai 7,5,1.1, and 88, png, tiff, psd5, ps45 eps, and FH9 formats. I opened the files in Photoshop7 and Illustrator10 if applicable. The results are deplorable, simply stated.

within the zip is an html file called FHMX_mess.html, with all the screen grabs coded into that. the zip is ~400kb. kind of big. I'll upload the images and page to a server if I can find the space.

thanks for looking and helping (if such a thing is possible).

Actually I don't think they think that at all. Rather, I think MM is
giving up the battle with Adobe, who very clearly dominates the print
    market.

MM has a strong footing when it comes to the web, and I think the events
of the last few years is merely them shoring up their footing and making
sure they keep their lead over Adobe.

    David,

Thank you for the reply. I do have fireworks and copy/paste is how i've been going. Actually, I am a bit dissappointed in FWMX - when you copy a grouped object out of FHMX, FW will at times rasterize it!!!! so frustrating...

Did you look at the examples I posted? Ever have any of the same problems?

    Oops. That should read:
    1. Color space of all FH colors and of Adobe documents (RGB or CMYK)

don't change the subject line of threads if you want help

sorry to throw a kink in your system. i edited the original post after i got examples online. sought to make the whole thing more concise. no real purpose in conversing over crummy bugs. i'd rather have less rather than more threads running.

I originally just wanted to get the file open for use in photoshop, the colors weren't really important. eps was the original format. did trial and error with export settings to see if it made difference until i had a chain of eps files. only posted one eps though. end destination is web. the reason why i tried other formats was to see if any were better. the main difference i was looking for was the vector lines/shapes to remain striaght, which was not achievable in most formats. this seems like a rather basic feature of any format and should not be influenced by color space or management. also the crooked vectors were not result of rastering, because they were still editable vectors, just not striaght and with more points added. the color shifts i only noticed when i lined up various formats. color space is rgb. os xp. im looking at the crooked vectors.
