Default Newbee on Fonts; converting from Mac to PC

I have been using Pagemaker 6.5 on a Mac Blueberry with OS 9.2. Have collected over 2300 fonts on the Mac. I upgraded to InDesign CS on Windows 2000. Across my home network I transferred all my documents from the Mac to the PC using FTP. On the PC I can open and work on all the documents created on the Mac just fine. Only problem I have is that all the fonts I used on the Mac are not in the InDesign CS and I don't want to have to go out and re-purchase the fonts, so:
    1) is there a way to convert Mac fonts to Windows? (I have Adobe PS, True Type, and True Type GX)
    2) if I can't convert the fonts is there any concise list of recommendations of what fonts are almost identical to other fonts? (I could then use the 'Find Fonts' and just do a replacement).

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

I was told that there is a software named Crossfont which should do that
converting-job. I never tried, and I don't know where to download or buy,
but I suggest to do a look-up at google i.e.

I'd recommend TransType by FontLab over CrossFont. It has a few more options, and handles batch operations very well.

However, be warned that in many cases you'll be violating your license for the fonts by doing this. Adobe's license allows you to convert fonts from one platform to another, but most other foundries do not.

Yes, I see it as just another reason to stay with Adobe fonts.
