newbie many to many table - MySQL

Hi all, I new to this. I read that if you can, try to avoid many to many relation on your tables. I also read that you can create a "Junction Table" OR "resolver table" to dissabiguate that. My question I think it's easy for you guys. I have a table city to city so all to all basically. I try to reduce this relation to one to many (recomended) but I have been unable to find clear information on the web, maybe I am not searching for the rights keywords. Could you point me to any resources to learn ...

    John,

Try searching on "database normalization". I don't have any good sites
I recommend in mind, but that should help get you started.

A good design is generally considered around 3rd normal form.
