Default newbie "paste into" or masking question

Longtime Quark user here recently switched to InDesign, just getting
    my feet wet with it.

I'm using windows xp and inDesign version 2.02

I've got a headline of text, several words, broken into five rows of text with returns.
and i want to basically paste a photograph inside the letters. Only way i could figure this out was to outline the text, then paste into, but that only works for one single word.

anyway to get the picture inside all words at once? I know how to do it in Illustrator, thats what i ended up doing, but just wondered if I could do this in InDesign for the future

    thanks

With all the text (oulines) selected, go to Object->Compound->Make.
