NewBie: query comes back empty, and gives an error

Hello I am working on web asp page. Sometimes the query is empty, but
I get an error Help

query2 = "select distinct date1 from response1 where survey_name = '"
& name1 & "' and command1 = '" & cmd1 & "'"

set rsPC1 = oASP.Execute(query2)
rsPC1.MoveFirst
do until rsPC1.EOF
resp = resp + 1
rsPC1.MoveNext
loop






error when empty




ADODB.Recordset (0x800A0BCD)
Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted.
Requested operation requires a current record.




any Ideas ?

get rid of the rsPC1.MoveFirst. it serves no purpose, and is the cause of
your error. how can it MoveFirst when there is no first record?
