In AI-10, when I create a new document with custom dimensions, I find the
document outline to have no rhyme or reason with how it is aligned to the
document rulers. In other words, a 5" document begins at 0.5 inches and ends
at 5.5 inches. It's like the outline was just randomly thrown on the canvas.

How do I create a document that begins at x=0 and y=0, to make it easier to
calculate values and perform on-the-fly mathematics?

The canvas seems unnecessarily large for such a small document. But I
digress.
