Default newbie question: removing unused files from casts

    Hi,
I think I remember reading about this somewhere, but can't remember where. How
can I remove from my .dir file any cast members that are not being used in the
movie. I'm pretty sure there is a way of doing this (like there is in Flash),
with out going through each cast member for eaCH cast one by one.

THe edit find castmember command (cmd-;)

Has a 'by usage' option, the selects all members (except movie scripts)
tha don't appear in the score. You can simple depete the hilited cast
    members.
Take care, certain lingo activated members like the rollover version
of a button may be needd even though they don't appear in the score.

You can make a 'puppet sprite preserve' past the end of the project
score, where thsews lingl members may be placed on stage so they don't
get selected by the usage check.

There's another authoring function that will find a selected member in
    the score, cmd-H activates it.
