I don't know all of the capabilities of droplets, but I can say they're a
real timesaver when we have to optimize a few dozen images. Save
optimization settings as a droplet, then drag a folder with the images onto
the droplet icon, and it optimizes all of the images at once. It's like a
handy shortcut to Batch functions.
