I know there's a way to easily update content in flash from an external sources like a .txt file. I'm looking for a tutorial to do so... Basically though I would like to use something like NewsPro, Graymatter etc... to post news updates within a flash file for my website. does anyone know how to do this or where I can find a tutorial that helps me do so?...

What you're looking for is how to create a dynamic text box, which calls on
an external .txt file.

Do a search at www.flashkit.com or in the Help section of Flash. Should be
easy to find!

Create your text file using a simple editor like Notepad in Windows. Call
it (for exampe) 'testing.txt' and save it in the same directory as your swf
will be.
It may look like this:

&testing-text=This is a test of Dynamic Text loading from an outside file&

Now create your Flash file. First, in the first frame, place some AS like
this:

loadVariablesNum("testing.txt", 0);

This will load the txt file you saved ealier. Now create a dynamic text box
and assign the variable as

testing-text

Publish your swf and make sure the TXT file is in the same directory that it
plays from. Play your swf and you will see the text from you txt in the dyn
text box. Now you can change just the txt file, not edit the Flash file and
change the content. There are many things you can do with this, I use this
method to change position of things on the stage even. As you text file
gets bigger, you will have to learn how to test for it to be completely
loaded before trying to load the variables, you will have blanks instead of
content. Once you get the idea, the details come easy.
