Newswatcher-How to extract binaries,etc - Mac Applications & Software

I used to use a newsreader program called Newswatcher. They just updated the program and force one to re-enter the preferences. I don't know what helper programs I had used for binary extraction or UUDecoding. What helper programs do I use so that I don't just get text gibberish? Thanks...

Switch to Thoth - it's better and easier to use.

    Try YA-Decoder.

You're running Newswatcher and not one its variants? It has't been
    updated in a while.
I use one of its variants, MT-Newswatcher. I've tried Thoth also, but I
like MT-Newswatcher better--for me, the latter is more intuitive.
Keep in mind that Newswatcher cannot decode yEnc encoded files,
regardless of which helper app you use. The Classic version of
MT-Newswatcher can't either; you need either Thoth or the OS X ver. of
    MT-Newswatcher (v. 3.3, IIRC).

This isn't /quite/ true -- you can't use the normal method and have the
Classic version work, but you can use an external decoder and the Save
as Archive command (forget exact name of command). That'll work,
    although it's more bersome.
