Nikkormat EL - Photography

First of all DO NOT SELL OR TRADE THE 85 f 1.8 or the 28 f 2. Many a camera dealer will be more than happy to trade you a zoom for them but don't do it! These lenses are worth real money and they far better lenses than you will be able to replace them with. A 28-85 zoom is a handy lens and I recomed 'em for travel and so forth, but when it comes to really good photography the fixed lenses will beat the pants off them. Shop for an "f" style zoom .. it'll have that ...

Shop for an "f" style zoom .. it'll have that little "stick up" giz on top that
engages a pin on the camera. I'd think used value might be abour $40 or even
    less.

Lens dollar values have allot more to do with how fast a lens is (how low the f
number is) than how how long or short it is. Hang on to those old Nikor's!

    Default Nikkormat EL

My father gave me this camera. He did not use it for the last ten years.
Where and how can I purchase a zoom lens for this camera and sell the lenses
I have? He had several fixed focal length lens, a Nikon-N Auto 28 mm f2.0, a
    Nikkor H-C auto 85mm f1.8, and a Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f3,5 Macro
Focusing Auto Zoom lens. I want to purchase a 28-85mm zoom lens or something
    close. Help!!!!!!

You need a Nikkor AI or AI-S with the "bunny ears" external coupling shoe to
couple to the meter in your EL (I wouldn't bother with older non-AI zooms,
especially the 43-86 which has a reputation for barking at the moon (in
other words a real dog)). There are brand-x lenses that also have that
capability but in the long run you might be happier staying All Nikkor.
