Default Nikon D70 hack for ACR

I know the next version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) for Photoshop CS will
have support for the Nikon D70 Raw files as will Bibble (OSX only).

My problem though is that I use PShop7 (Mac OS9). I tried changing D1X
to D70 using a hex editor on the plugin. PS7 now sees the NEF files but
when I open the image it becomes unreadable, sample (note the file
    extensions):

    Question(s).

Have I not edited the plugin correctly (I was successful in doing it for
the Canon Rebel, but not the first try)? Has anyone done this with success?

Will the plugin for PShop CS work with PS7?

Contrary to Canon 300D and 10D (which use the same CMOS chip), the Nikon
D70 and D1X use totally different chips. It doesn't surprise me that
this hack didn't work. You may have better luck with hacking the D100
    (if that is already supported).

Why don't you try? You can download the Camera RAW update for Photoshop
CS for free from the Adobe website.
