No anti-aliasing in Illustrator?

Hi!
If we paste a clipart/image in Illustrator, it seems that Illustrator will automatically apply anti-aliasing to the final result and "smooths" the image.

Is it possible to turn off anti-aliasing in Illustrator?(I'm using Illustrator 9.0)
If so, how do you do it?

I want it such that when I resize the image, it looks sharp and pixellated, like when you resize images in Microsoft Paint.

Antialiasing is a preference you can turn on and off in Preferences. But it matters little, since Illustrator is a vector editing program. The antialiasing is merely a display preference to provide an improved preview of your artwork. If you are rasterizing the artwork for use in a paint program, then antialiasing is an option when rasterizing using the Object->Rasterize command or when exporting to a raster format like JPEG or TIFF.

Please only post one topic for one question. Not only will it make it easier for you to locate relevant replies but also has the added advantage of avoiding upsetting the natives. I have deleted your duplicate post.

If the clipart is raster, then re-sizing will lead to image degradation. Only vector artwork can be re-sized without problems.
