No idea where to start

hey guys-

i have recently been really interested in web apps and data driven
development. i am very familiar w/ flash and dreamweaver as ways to present
data and information. i regularly integrate xml and other primitive data types
into my flash pieces to have at least some dynamism, but i'm ready to jump to
the next level. the .NET programmer at work is trying to get me into that, and
though i'd like to be knowledgeable in it, i'm much more interested in
mastering CF usage.

i'm trying to figure out where the heck to start. that's always the hardest
part about learning a new program or coding language, so if i could get some
help in which book(s) to purchase to get me in the right direction, which sites
to read up on, what type of very beginner, primitive apps i can try to find
ways (or tutorials, etc) to build that will help me learn the core and
foundation of the technology, then i'd really really appreciate it.

_2_11_2/202-2908800-5470266 is about as good as it gets for learning ColdFusion.

And this book

_2_3_1/202-2908800-5470266 is really good for learning AS2 and getting your
head around data integration. It doesn't cover Flash Remoting with AS2 though
which is really disapointing. I had to work that out myself with online
resources.
