I have read the following article

So">http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19175
So</a> is it true
No more havok with director is that why I dont see a big community for director
I created a model in 3d studio 8 and realize that I can not export a hke file
So i think what I am supose to do now is create manual scripts in director to
make my model use Havok
Am I correct
I just ordered like 3 books on director lingo to make sure I do everything
correctly

Re: No more havok
Hi,
Yes. Max 8 won't allow exporting of an HKE file so you'll have to script those
elements in Director. I have a tutorial on this topic that shows how to use Havok
behaviors to set things up that could be previously done with Max. The tut is at:

Here are some useful Havok info sites:

3D demos with downloadable sources files and Havok technotes.
* Intel - Using Shockwave 3D's Havok Physics Engine:

Re: No more havok
Thank you that is a great site and helped me out alot
What I am trying to do is I have a model with bones and Ik setup on it
3d studio max 8
When I import them into director it doesnt move the other characters
when I move the IK Chain
In 3d studio it works fine
Also if I move the bones in director it doesnt move the items that have a skin
modifier with that bone
IS there anything I can do to get it to work with IK in director?
Would Maya or lightwave work better for me?

Re: No more havok
I figured out that 3d studio 4 and above cant export bones correctly
I am going to start using lightwave or maya I have both of them available at
work
I tried to export my model as 3ds out of 3d studio but when I import into
lightwave it is just one huge object
Havent tried Maya yet

Re: No more havok
Yeah so Lightwave cant ungroup all the items
And
Maya cant export w3d Maya 7
I tried looking for a plugin to export w3d but I can only find a plugin for
maya 4.5 and 4
No plugin for w3d for maya 7
Are they cutting off all support for director?
First 3d studio with Havok hke files
Then bones in 3d studio
Now no plugin for Maya to export w3d

Re: No more havok
I got Maya to export w3d but when I get it to director
I try to move my IK Handle so it can move the rest of the models but it doesnt
move anything
USING THE 3D Tool in director
I am reading the maya help topics now to see if it will export the IK Handle
correctly
