Not enough memory to continue preview.
This happens only after a few seconds of drawing something in Illustrator. It doesn't matter what it is, may it be only a few lines or objects. The whole screen just goes white and doesn't show up untill i drag my mouse over areas of the screen. And after another few seconds, i get a message "Not enough memory to continue preview" or that pesky [send error report] [don't send] message. I've set the plugin and scratch disk to an hdd with 20 gbs free.
My system:
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
512 MB Ram

Re: Not enough memory to continue preview.
Darjan,
I cannot help you, but whoever can will need to know which version you are using (my guess is CS/11).

Re: Not enough memory to continue preview.
Darjan, I doubt this is the solution, but while you wait for a more qualified answer, you may try deleting the AIPrefs file. How is described in the FAQ; here is the quote on the CS shortcut:
With Illustrator CS, it is also possible to delete the preferences by holding down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT whilst starting the application and responding 'Yes' when prompted (but you do have to be really quick to do so - if the Splash screen displays, Illustrator has beaten you to it)

Re: Not enough memory to continue preview.
I have found the "Windows XP freezes" Troubleshooting guide, and i have tried a few of the steps last night, but none worked. I'll try to finish the guide today and report back.

Re: Not enough memory to continue preview.
Ugh... looks like a Windows re-install is in order, since 3D Studio Max has started acting that way too. I'm scanning the system for viruses at the moment and will do a Spyware check after that, but if they both turn up clean, I'll have no other choice.

Re: Not enough memory to continue preview.
Wouldn't you know it, a Windows reinstall did the trick. Now let's see how long i can keep it working.
