If you are looking for something like IPTC header info, I don't believe PNG
files support it.
That being said, it kind of depends on what you want the notes for and where
you would like them to be viewable from.
If you only want them viewable from within the file, you could create a
layer and place a text object on it. Use the text object to store and edit
notes. Make the layer invisible, until you want to view/edit your notes.
If you are using Dreamweaver, you can always attach design notes to the
GIF/JPG file that you actually use on your webpage.
Otherwise, you can use an image browser that supports catalogs, like ACDSee
([url]www.acdsystems.com[/url]). It supports descriptions(3800 characters) and/or
descriptions (4095 characters) and uses and external database to associate
this information with your graphics files. There is a trial version of the
software on their website, and you can download the manual for free (Chapter
7 will probably be of the most interest to you).
