    Default NSSlider freeze other process?

I have a video running while using the NSSlider to control the speed.
I notice that once I have the mouse down while dragging the slider, it
stop my video until I release the mouse. Anybody know how I get it to
work. I think there is some work around by putting a timer in to
update the video while tracking. But I have more than just the video
running. Anyone know how I can get the slider not to interfere with
    my other process?

I don't think there's such a thing. I've look at it before and
    there's values, marker setting only.

It's not necessarily very intuitive, it's called "Continuous". What that
actually means is, continuous updating of the value. It does exist, and
    try changing it.

However, Cocoa does have weird problems like this in a couple of areas.
Scroll bars being one, and apparently sliders are another. Anything that
you *really* need to have going during those should probably go in a
separate thread if it can be done.

I assume by "other process" you mean something else you're doing in the
same thread? If its truly a separate process, then the slider shouldn't
    freeze it up.

If I'm right about the above, then you need to put the video in a
    separate thread.
