Default "Number of pages" field in MS Word

When creating a PDF from MS Word the "number of pages" field in the PDF document seems to be interpreted as "page number" for example in Word doc "page 1 of 3"; "page 2 of 3"; "page 3 of 3" becomes in the PDF doc "page 1 of 1"; "page 2 of 2"; "page 3 of 3"

I am using Acrobat 5.0, MS Word 2000, Windows 2000 service pack 4

Paul, try do do a 'Print Preview' (in Word) before you create the pdf. Also make sure your Tools|Options|Print|Update fields is checked (selected).
