nvidia driver with two kernels - Linux Setup, Configuration & Administration

I'm running two kernels (rtlinux and Mandrake), and am trying to install the nvidia display drivers for both. However, when I install the drivers while running one kernel, the installer removes the drivers for the other. Is there any way I can get the drivers installed on both kernels? The kernels are 2.4.19-16mdk and 2.4.19-rt13.2-pre2 and NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-4496-pkg2.run to install the drivers. Thanks, Zach Convert the 'zero' to '0' to reply....

    Zach,

You'd probably want to get the tar'ed sources and compile yourself, first
using the first kernel, then boot to the other kernel, make clean, make and
make install. Should work (though I haven't tried).

Start the first kernel, run the NVIDIA script. If everything went well the
script installed a module in /lib/modules/<kernel
version>/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.o. Backup this module, restart your
computer with the other kernel, run the NVIDIA script. Now there should be
a nvidia.o module in exactly the same location, if not you can try the
    backup.

    Good luck,
