OBDC server error message
I'm trying to define a DSN in the Coldfusion Administrator but keep getting the
error message:
The Coldfusion MX ODBC Server service is not running or has not been installed.
Text
I've had a look in Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services and the
ODBC server seems to be there and started. As I'm a complete newbie to the
whole Macromedia and web development area I was hoping someone could provide
assistance with this problem.
For some background, I'm reading through 'Macromedia Studio MX 2004 - Training
from the source' by shaowen + jeffrey bardzell. I'm on Lesson 15 (for anyone
familiar with the book) and I've installed Coldfusion correctly (I thought) and
followed all the instructions until I get to the 'Add New Data Source' which is
where the error message above appears. I've installed Coldfusion MX 6.1 to run
with IIS 5.1 . My machine is running Win XP Pro SP2.
I've tried stopping and starting the services again, but no joy. If anyone
could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
