I hope that someone is experienced this same issue and can offer some advice. I have a bunch of symbols of various User interface components for mocking up screens. When I drag an instance of most of these symbols, I have to expand them to edit labels and sample content.

Once I expand them, I can take symbols resize them (for instance, a table column with alternating row colors that needs to be wider or taller). The problem is, when I select one side's worth of vector points in the object, and then move them to widen or lengthen the object, some of the objects that are part of that exapanded symbol completely disappear. In one particular case, both the text box containing the content for the alternating rows and the row background disappear. Then if I multiple undo back to the original state, the objects are back, but unselectable.

Has anyone had this problem? I'm using Illustrator CS running XP on a Dell Latitude laptop, 2GHz Pentium 4, 1 GB of RAM, Windows XP Professional, version 2002, SP 1.

I hadn't experienced this problem in Illustrator 10 - so, I may need to go back to it and start again from scratch, which would be a last resort.

Thanks in advance
Brian
