ODBC Connection options from Windows Server to DB2 on AS/400 - IBM DB2

Hi: We are investigating the deployment of Crystal Enterprise on a Windows server. This application server will need to connect to the DB2 databases hosted on our AS/400's. My CIO wants me to use IBM's Client Access Express (since we already own it), but this is not (to my knowledge) a server-class connection as it is meant to be used for desktop connectivity. Default ODBC Connection options from Windows Server to DB2 on AS/400

    Hi:

We are investigating the deployment of Crystal Enterprise on a Windows
server. This application server will need to connect to the DB2
databases hosted on our AS/400's. My CIO wants me to use IBM's Client
Access Express (since we already own it), but this is not (to my
knowledge) a server-class connection as it is meant to be used for
    desktop connectivity.

What are my low-cost options? We will have up to 25 users accessing
this server concurrently, and this server will have 2 CPU's.

Please let me know what your experiences have been. I have looked
into Data Direct, HiT, and StarSQL. Any other solutions I should look
    into.

    Thanks in advance.

    Bruce.

I believe StarQuest (StarSQL) charges based on concurrent licensing,
so it's probably a good option.
