Default odbc failed to verify please help!!!!!!

    Hi all,

I have a problem regarding an odbc setup using cold fusion administrators.

Version of Cold Fusion used : professional 5

Database Server A: SQL SERVER 2000 standard edition on a Microsoft Server 2003
    (O/S) box.

Database Server B: SQL SERVER 2000 personal edition on a Microsoft window 2000
    (O/S) box.

Problem found: odbc Failed to verify if using databases on server A. Network
Engineer checked the traffic is fine.

But if I set up odbc using databases on server B, It?s ok.

Couldn?t figure out if this is a db server issue or a cold fusion
    administrator issue?..

Check to see if the MSSQL port is not firewalled (I think it's port 1443).
What is the actual error message ? You can also try removing and adding the
    datasource again.

What kind of authentication is server A setup for? CF really should have a SQL login. It's not required, but it really is a pain to setup and manage NT logins for CF datasources.
